The National Tube Company plant will likely maintain a high level of operations into next week. Three blast furnaces and 11 open hearths will run, with the Bessemer converter doubling turns and the rat mill finishing its weekend schedule Monday. Two Fined On Liquor Charges After Raids
In surprise raids last evening four state agents and Deputy Sheriffs Chalmers, Davidson, and Ed Monroe arrested two Lorain County men on charges of possession of illegal liquor. Ralph Maringer of Crook Street, Grafton, was arrested after a pitcher with a quart of illicit booze was found. Frank Heidinger of Route 57 near Grafton tried to conceal three quarts behind him and was also taken into custody. Heidinger was fined 200 dollars and costs and jailed 30 days. Maringer received 40 dollars and costs.
