Daring Hold Up At Standard Oil Station In Elyria
Police investigate a bold early morning robbery at the Standard Oil Station on Cleveland and East Bridge streets in Elyria. Attendant Kenneth Murr is robbed of fifty to sixty dollars, blindfolded, and driven to Ridgeville where he is dumped. Three men in a Hupmobile flee, one described as 23, 5 feet 9 inches, 140 pounds. Officers connect suspects with a prior sighting on Feast Broad Street near Washington Avenue at about 4 AM.

In Cincinnati on June 10 A W Shafer 36 district sales manager for Henry L Doherty and Company was arraigned on an embezzlement charge of 10162 50 amid the closure of Cosmo politan Bank and Trust Company. Bank taken over by the state as auditors rush to review tangled accounts while depositors gather outside. Shafer’s bond was posted by his father Don Shafer who says his son has been involved in stock market activity. Shafer native Cincinnatian educated here unmarried and employed by Doherty eight years. Cause of Death Probed After Cascade Park Drowning
At Cascade Park a 14 year old Lorain boy Benny Kowaliczky drowned or died after a fall on rocks during a St Stanislaus church picnic. Coroner Myles Perry planned to investigate the death. Elyria High School presents two separate exhibits this afternoon and tonight at the Technical Building to mark the school’s hundredth charter anniversary. The historical exhibit features pictures of early teachers and students plus a Phantom Replica of Elyria 1830 1857, carved buildings, and a centennial tie in, while the high school display includes art department works and other student projects. Programs start at 8 00 pm with open exhibits 2 to 5 pm and 7 to 9 30 pm, admission free.

Summer School Opens June 23 in Elyria

Mayor Henry McGee Fined for Liquor Possession in Court
Mayor Henry McGee of 29 Chestnut Street was found guilty of liquor possession in police court and fined 400 dollars plus costs. Remove Bodies From Quarry Hole
SOUDERTON Pa June 10 Navy divers search for four more bodies believed in a quarry where an automobile carrying seven people plunged through a fence and down a 35 foot embankment into 50 feet of water. Bodies of Emma Wisham and Ella Wisham were recovered and Harold Wisham, 11, was found. No one else remained in the car. The four others are thought to be in weeds at the bottom.
