LCCC unveils 5 million gift for STEM Discovery Institute
Lorain County Community College receives a 5 million dollar gift from the Eric and Jane Nord Family Fund to establish the STEM Discovery Institute at the foundation's 60th anniversary events. The gift prompts renaming of the Elyria campus College Center to the Eric and Jane Nord College Center and coincides with inducting eight Commodore Hall of Fame members.

Federation of Democratic Women Convention Ends in Lorain
The National Federation of Democratic Women wrapped its 53rd annual convention in Lorain at the Ariel Broadway Hotel with a pledge to build a better world and respect humanity. The four day event drew several hundred participants, featured workshops and meet and greets with state leaders, and closed with Lorain native Alicia Cole discussing patient safety advocacy and her medical journey.
