Steele High School Teachers Enter Retirement In 2009
Three Marion L. Steele High School staff members retire after long careers. Jill Harmych leaves 36 years of teaching with 25 at Steele, Dave Bragg plans travel and family time in Belgium and the U.S., and another colleague Moluse exits after 36 years including Avon Lake and East Hampton service.

Community fundraisers highlight local events and races
Relay for Life fundraiser at Marion L Steele High School features a 5K run and walk with first 50 walkers receiving free T-shirts. Festival of the Fish 5K race and 1 mile walk sponsored by Vermilion YMCA and Cleveland Clinic Lorain Sports Health on June 20 with prizes for top finishers and age groups. Other activities include a car wash at Amherst Sandstone Summer Theatre, outdoor lemonade social Sundays in Vermilion, and a spaghetti dinner benefit by Amherst VFW Post 1662 with raffles and a silent auction to aid Pisegna. Proceeds support local programs.
