John David Jackson 83 of Elyria died on Sun 6 2009 at Amherst Hospital Funeral arrangements by Busch Funeral Home Elyria announced.
Ruth E Maxwell Callahan died after long illness. She lived in Lorain Ohio and was survived by family and friends. A service will be held at a local church with burial in Lorain. Funeral arrangements are being handled by a local funeral home.
Linda Lee Kaatz a lifelong Elyria resident and 1962 Elyria High School graduate attended Kent State University and taught briefly in Elyria schools. She is survived by her husband of 44 years William H Kaatz. sons William H Jr and Wesley G. a brother Richard. The family will receive friends June 10 2009 from 5 to 8 PM at Dicken Funeral Home Elyria. A memorial service will be June 11 2009 at 11 AM at St Jedes in Elyria or charity of the donor's choice.
Donald H Pfingsten 81 of Medina and formerly of North Ridgeville died June 7 2009 after a long illness. He retired in 2005 from Moores RV Sales after 15 years and previously worked 30 years at Nelson Pump and Supply. He was a Medina Eagles Club member and enjoyed RV boating travel fishing and hunting. He is survived by wife Kathy Bradford Pfingsten and several children and step children. Services were set for June 9 2009 viewing and a June 10 2009 funeral mass at St Peter Catholic Church North Ridgeville with burial at Elmhurst Cemetery Avon.
Keith A. Davidson 33 of Lakewood died suddenly June 5 2009 at home. He grew up in North Ridgeville and Elyria a 1994 Elyria High School graduate and worked as an equipment technician at Joshen Paper for two years. He enjoyed volleyball fishing music and Cleveland sports. He is survived by parents John and Renaye Davidson brother Brian Elyria nephews Preston Mackenzie Kingston paternal grandfather Carl Davidson and many aunts uncles and cousins. Visitation June 10 2009 and services June 12 2009 at David Bogner Family Funeral Home North Ridgeville with burial in Ridgeville Cemetery. Memorials to Colon Cancer Alliance.
Carl Z Powell Jr a Korean War veteran dies with wife Dorothy at his side in a family gathering. He leaves 13 grandchildren 16 great grandchildren 11 brothers and one sister. Surviving children include Terry Powell Will iam T Powell Tammie Papa delis Toni Nagy Tracie Smith. Funeral details not listed.
Cora Elsie Hicks of Amherst, 74, died Sunday June 7 2009 after a nursing career at Amherst Manor Nursing Home. Survived by daughters Lois Arbogast Jers Ottie Jean Meade Lou Hicks ise Giles Mary Jo Predmore and Carline. predeceased by Doyle Buck Hicks and parents Esan and Lola Byrd. Karl Richard Renner 86 of Elyria died June 7 2009 after a sudden illness. He was born November 12 1922 in Piqua and lived in Grafton most of his life. He retired from the Steel Dept in 1983 after 44 years service and was a Moose Lodge member. He is survived by his wife Carole and five sons along with several sisters. Virginia Eleanor Becker known as Ginny Lobby at Lorain Assembly Plant dies at home after a brief illness. She was a 1934 Lorain High School graduate and longtime employee of Lorain Assembly Plant and Thew Shovel Company. Survived by multiple nephews and nieces and caregivers, funeral services set for June 11 2009 at Hempel Funeral Home with burial at Ridge Hill Memorial Park. Memorials suggested to Brownhelm Congregational United Church of Christ Lorain County Metro Parks Animal Protective League and related foundations.

Cecil E. Simmons 84 of North Ridgeville died in 2009 after a long illness. A retiree from the National Weather Service he served in the U S Army during the Korean War. Survived by wife Elizabeth and children Rebecca Harris and Craig Simmons, he was active in Fields United Methodist Church and several local organizations. Services were held June 9 10 2009 with a wake at the David Bogner Funeral Home and a graveside at West Branch Cemetery Wellsboro Pennsylvania.
