Abandoned buildings plague North Ridgeville area

In North Ridgeville several abandoned structures with broken windows and debris present safety hazards and eyesores. City officials lack funds and manpower to raze them, and private owners are hard to locate. The Ohio Department of Transportation will demolish a few as bids open July 27, costing $1,000 to $5,000 per structure. A city band, Safety Town enrollments, a Democratic Club meeting, summer playground registration, senior citizens day, and recreation programs are also announced amid the ongoing neglect of the remaining buildings.
