The Sistine Chapel of Pittsburgh Maxo Vanka Murals Restored
Inside St Nicholas Croatian Catholic Church in Millvale Pa a decades long restoration has revived Maxo Vankas 1941 mural cycle. The effort by the Society to Preserve the Millvale Murals of Maxo Vanka cleaned salt damage restored color and stabilized plaster revealing vibrant angels felted flames and Moses. The project funded in part by a 471670 Save Americas Treasures grant supports the 125th anniversary Mass scheduled for June 1.
