Avon High School wins 35th Scholastic Games title on WEOL
Avon High School’s academic team claimed its fifth Lorain County Scholastic Games championship with a 370 to 210 victory over Black River High School in a rematch marking the program’s first rematch in 35 years. Avon’s Aditya Rao, Jackson Cellura, and captain Mark Carney led the title run, while Black River’s Josh Adkins, Stryker Charlton, and captain Nick Obarski paced the challengers. The season also noted the series’ first podcast era expansion and continued support from local colleges, libraries, and donors, with multiple community notices on summer programs and local events following.
