Red Cross in Lorain County Bows to Budget Shortfall
Lorain County Chapter of the American Red Cross reduced its budget across all areas due to funding gaps. Executive director Clyde McDonald Jr. cites 17 thousand dollars short and unexpected costs from fires and other events, including a late April Elyria house fire that left 16 homeless. The drive shortfall and missed United Appeal goal reduced funds for services including the motor corps transport, prompting appeals to volunteers through the Center for Sightless to sustain summer programs.
