A one car accident on Gulf Road sent a senior Elyria youth to Elyria Memorial Hospital with head and limb cuts. Frederick Sheldon of 783 Finwood Street was in satisfactory condition after his 1985 car sped up a hill lost control rolled over jumped a guard rail and ended at the road bank. Police estimated vehicle damage around 1800 with no charges filed.

Avon man charged in auto theft case
John R. McPhee twenty four of 2406 Hastings Street faces Avon Lake Municipal Court charges for auto theft and being in physical control of a motor vehicle while under the influence. He is hospitalized in guarded condition with a gunshot wound to the side after being shot by Stanley Wolfe who fired as McPhee drove away in the stolen car. Police said Wolfe will face no charges.
