Hart dies after prison heart attack following acquittal
Gene Leroy Hart, famed for his acquittal in the Girl Scout killings, died of a massive heart attack Monday inside the Oklahoma State Penitentiary in McAlester. The 35-year-old Cherokee had spent years in and out of prison and collapsed while jogging on prison grounds. Prison officials rushed him to a hospital where he was pronounced dead 40 minutes after the collapse.

Lake freighter burn fatal fire leaves six missing crewmen
A 700 foot Lake Superior freighter the Carrier Cliff Hall burned early today forcing abandonment by 20 crew. Six missing two oilers and two deckhands and one helmsman and one porter.
