David Keith Dies From Home Fire Injuries
David Keith aged 74 died at Elyria Memorial Hospital after a kitchen fire at his daughter's home on West Street. Firefighters arrived at 9 23 p m and rescued him from the blaze but he succumbed at 10 25 p m to extensive burns. He suffered about 90 percent burn coverage. Keith had a favorite overstuffed chair in the kitchen and was found near it after the fire. His daughter Ruth Keith of Elyria was away at a Sunday school meeting when notified. Born July 14 1879 in Dundee Scotland he moved to Elyria 50 years ago and belonged to the United Presbyterian Church I O O F Lodge and Elyria Eagles Lodge. His wife Isabella died in 1941 and a sister Jessie Keith lives in Dundee. The body was taken to Sudro Curtis Funeral Home with funeral 2 pm Saturday at the same location and burial in Brookdale Cemetery. casket not to be opened.

Hit-Skip Car Driver Is Jailed
Willis H. Hardy, 19, of 565 Lodi Street, was arrested after a May 16 hit and run that struck Harold Dennison, 33, of 101 West River Street, injuring him with a compound fracture and 45 foot thrown distance. Hardy, questioned May 28 and again yesterday, admitted the crime and was fined $100 plus costs by Mayor J. Grant Keys and sentenced to 30 days in county jail. Detective Capt. Maurice Flood and Sgt.
