Britain Builds Fastest Warship in World
Britain began construction on a 50 million battleship in Clydebank Scotland destined to be the fastest. Frames for the lower sections are being welded and a keel berth prepared. It will carry No 554 under Queen Mary’s sister ship No 662. Weighing 35 000 tons it will exceed others of similar size due to electric welding reducing weight. The project will employ about 6 000 men for six years with a special power station being erected for welding.
