Governor pushes school district consolidation after four county tour
Herbert spent a day touring four southern Ohio counties Jackson Scioto Lawrence and Gallia to inspect aging schools. He announced continued consolidation efforts and said the state would use up to 2 million in current rehabilitation funds for 1947 48 with priority for multi room buildings including a 1870 Savageville one room schoolhouse. A separate note recalls Yale night at the Boston Pops with college song arrangements by a Harvard graduate.
