Recovery in trouble: Job Growth stumbles
United States job growth stalled in May with 69,000 new positions, the weakest in a year, lifting unemployment to 8.2 percent. The data spooked markets as the Dow slid, while politicians blamed opposing policies and argued over remedies including energy development and veteran employment. Alan Krueger noted 27 months of private sector job gains totaling 4.3 million.

Wal Mart CEO affirms commitment to compliance amid Mexico bribery probes
Wal Mart Stores Inc. CEO Mike Duke told about 14,000 at the Fayetteville annual meeting that the company is committed to integrity and compliance everywhere. The retailer is overhauling its compliance program and expanding investigations beyond Mexico as U.S. and Mexican authorities probe alleged bribery for permits and favors. The meeting, at the University of Arkansas arena, also marked Wal Mart’s 50th anniversary amid a wave of shareholder concerns and derivative lawsuits targeting Duke, Walton, Scott, and other executives.
