Seniors leave 17-ton rock gift at Keystone High
Keystone High School students staged a bold prank after Memorial Day by placing a 17 ton rock on the front lawn. Gregg Dill 17 conceived the plan with his father Dill Construction assisting. The rock was hauled on a 35 ton trailer, weighed en route, and dumped on campus damaging the trailer and sidewalk. Principal William Craig joked he would not move the rock.

Tragic Drowning Of 7 Year Old Tex Worcester Jr
A seven year old Elyria boy, Tex Worcester Jr., slipped from a wet sandstone ledge into the rain swollen Black River near Charles Court and Fourth Street. He was recovered from five feet of water about 15 feet from the ledge and pronounced dead at Elyria Memorial Hospital. His friends said he liked to throw stones in the river and had received a bicycle the day before.
