Colorado State lowers hurricane forecast for 2018 season
Colorado State University Tropical Meteorology Project cut its forecast to six hurricanes and two major hurricanes for 2018 citing absence of El Nino and cool Atlantic temperatures. The outlook, near average activity, also projects 13 named storms and compares with NOAA's five to nine hurricanes and one to four major hurricanes. Irma's 2017 impact noted for context.
