Former Lorain mayor dies of heart attack
John Romoser, former interim mayor of Lorain and former Sheffield mayor, died at 68 after chest pains early Sunday at EMH Regional Medical Center. His wife Mary Romoser spoke of his sudden collapse near the ER doors as he drove himself to the Elyria hospital. Romoser had a history of heart problems and had served Lorain as interim mayor in 2007 and earlier as Sheffield mayor in the 1970s. Andrew Winemiller remembered his genuine concern for the city and residents.

GM to file for bankruptcy with government stake

Abortion Doctor Killed at Wichita Church Service
Dr. George Tiller, a leading late term abortion provider, was shot dead Sunday while serving as an usher at a Wichita church. A 51 year old suspect, identified as Scott Roeder, was detained about 170 miles away in Johnson County hours later and to be questioned in Wichita.
