Browns fail to ink Dutton in on going contract dispute

Cleveland Browns officials confirmed they offered John Dutton a contract after he exercised his option with Baltimore. The team could not meet his salary demands, in part due to his agent Howard Slusher who also represented kicker Tom Skladany. Dutton, 24, was the No. 1 pick of Baltimore from Nebraska in 1974 and sought a better deal after two unsettled seasons.
