May Health Reports Show Low Contagion in Elytia

Elytia’s May health report notes few contagion cases with overall low levels. Kathryn Hull logged visits for scarlet fever and tuberculosis, ran three baby clinics, sent patients to Pleasant View Sanitarium, tested 347 vision cases, and handled registrations. Laboratory and sanitation figures include milk and blood tests, restaurant inspections, and quarantines for dogs.

31 Dwelling Permits Issued Last Month

Building inspector Matt Dickson reports 31 dwelling permits issued last month, the most for any month this year. Total issued permits 7. 45 were building permits for new construction valued at 261,926 dollars. Fees collected from permits amount to 181.20 dollars. Oberlin notes Theta Chapter of Pi Kappa Lambda elected seniors Natalie Henderson and Allene Knighton of the Oberlin Conservatory of Music to membership, meeting the society’s top twenty percent senior requirement.

Avon Lake couple to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Howard A. Walker and his wife Curie Eden Viels Walker of Avon Lake plan a private gathering Monday to mark 50 years of marriage. He served as mayor and longtime school bus driver, while she knitted for Red Cross and loved quilting. they have six children, 12 grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

Mrs May Stokes wife of James Stokes of Detroit Road Westlake died at her home this morning at age 80. She leaves husband two sons Clyde and Floyd a daughter Mrs Deane Ingwer five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Funeral Monday at 2 pm from Pease Funeral Home Westlake burial in Olmsted Falls Cemetery. Charles Covey of Henrietta died at Allen Hospital at 830 am today born in Panama N Y in 1893. Will Celebrate 55th Anniversary Of Marriage Monday

NORTH RIDGEVILLE Mr and Mrs Bob Terrell of Cleveland toad North Ridgeville will celebrate quietly their 54th wedding anniversary on Monday June 3. They were married in North Olmsted on June 3 18dF Mrs Terrell is the former Dally Orvis. They have three sons Ralph Edgar and LaVinus all of Elyria. There are grandchildren including grandsons who served during the war. Robert and James sons of Ralph served in the Army and Edgar and William sons of LaVinus served in the Navy. Mrs Terrell is a member of the North Olmsted Congregational church and active in its circles and is a member of the Neighborhood club. Both Mr and Mrs Terrell are in fair health.

Four Persons Fined By Mayor Agate

Four individuals were fined by Mayor A R Agate on intoxication charges after arraignment. Henry Krile of 140 Chase Street had the fine and costs suspended in exchange for turning over $18 to his family.
