Jury Trial For Martin Tail in Potter Murder Resumes
In Cleveland on June 1 the second Martin Tail murder trial proceeded with four women and three men tentatively seated as jurors. Defense contended expert witness Estelle Ambrose’s missing testimony was vital, but Judge Harrison W. Ewing overruled the postponement. Ambrose had said she heard shots and saw shades lowered in the Potter suite, while alibi timing for Martin centered on Akron around 9 p.m. Betty Gray, a key witness from the prior trial, has been missing for months. A bid to quash the indictment was denied.
