Lorain schools say valuations won’t boost levy funds
Lorain officials explain increases in home values do not raise property tax revenue for the district. The 4.97-mill permanent improvement levy would still generate about $3.5 million yearly, and HB 920 caps levy income regardless of value changes. The district plans maintenance funding, reserves, and may seek a small operating levy in 2025 depending on enrollment and costs.
