Judith Viorst the tragi comic bard of middle life
Judith Viorst described as the tragi comic bard of middle life explores her multiple identities as children's author poet and magazine columnist. She discusses her career starts from seven years old with poems such as An Ode to my Dead Parents and her shift to freelancing after marrying Milton Vierst in 1960. Viorst portrays a busy, self-made writer balancing home life with three sons, marriage, and enduring hunger while remaining wary of adulation from her family and readers.
