Avon Lake Library seeks 25 mill levy to fund operations
Avon Lake Library Trustees approve a resolution asking the school board to place a 25 mill five year levy before voters next November. Library president George Skuggen says costs have risen and the tangible tax funds only part of expenses, with hours and staff at risk if the levy fails. The measure would raise about 60,000 from tangible tax in 1976 and boost the library budget to 107,500 in 1977. The board funded salaries and operating costs, and will present the resolution to the Board of Education at its next regular meeting.
