Ford Motor reports record second quarter auto losses
UPI reports U.S. auto industry losses reach a record 965 million in the April-June quarter. Ford’s worldwide deficit hit 468 million, the third straight all time quarterly loss for a U.S. automaker, with U.S. sales slumping and imports from Japan drawing market share. Ford earnings overseas fell 25.6 percent, while overall worldwide sales dropped 22 percent to 9.3 billion.
