North Ridgeville Raises Ambulance Fees and Starts School Paper

North Ridgeville approves a law increasing ambulance fees from 14 to 25 dollars effective Aug 15 to fund a second ambulance. Fire Chief Dreger estimates about 400 residents paid the old 15 dollar charge last year, with funds going to general city finances. The new plan allocates rescue-run revenues to a dedicated ambulance fund to cover maintenance and a new vehicle within three years, with about 10 thousand dollars expected from about 400 annual hospital runs if trends hold. Also, all homeowners will receive an eight to twelve page newspaper about city schools starting in August, costing 300 dollars for five issues, distributed monthly to improve communication with residents. A North Ridgeville Pre School PTA party featuring Big Bird Cookie Monster and Kermit the Frog is set for August 1 at Chicken Manor Restaurant with puppet show and refreshments.
