Food refusal by terminally ill hospice patients study
A survey of Oregon hospice nurses finds many patients hasten death by refusing food and drink. Most end life at home and die within about two weeks, with nurses rating most deaths as good to very good. The study involved 129 nurses, 102 of whom had encountered such cases, with some resuming eating later.
