Ridgeville board approves $94 million bond plan
NORTH RIDGEVILLE The Board of Education completed the final step to place a 94 million bond issue on the November ballot. Funds would build additions at Ridgeville High School and Lear North Elementary to ease overcrowding. The board voted 5-0 to proceed, filing the resolution with the Lorain County Board of Elections.

Lorain Man Faces Grand Jury For Kidnap Rape Case
Jerome A Flora 37 of 319 W 20th St is named in Lorain County grand jury action over alleged rape and kidnapping of a 12 year old girl on June 26 in Sheffield Village. Victim testified she was forced into a car at gunpoint near Shoreway Shopping Center and driven to French Creek Reservation, where an attempted rape occurred before returning to Sheffield Lake. Flora pleaded innocent at Municipal Court and remains jailed on a $20,000 bond.

Lorain men get probation for drugs
Three Lorain men received probation after guilty pleas to drug offenses. Michael K Dixon and Roger Lee Gillespie, both of Lorain, were fined 300 dollars and costs and placed on probation for three years. Jenny McLemore was placed on probation for three years after being indicted for carrying a concealed weapon. Mer T Shauver and Dalton Spencer were referred for pre sentence reports after guilty pleas to forgery and assault respectively.
