Marathon 11th inning win Ends Elyria East bid at majors
Akron Kenmore edged Elyria East 2-1 in 11 innings after a missed rundown. Neal Robinson slid home under the tag to spark the decisive rally as darkness and a rain delay weighed on the marathon game at Airborne Field. East scored in the third on Mark Tanner’s double but Kenmore’s Roy Whitt and Bob Blake held firm, securing the title bid.
