Oberlin history camp features Underground Railroad play
Eight campers ages 8 to 13 take part in American Kids Hands-on-History Fun focusing on stories games and crafts from 150 years ago. A local teacher wrote a play about John Price an Oberlin slave who escaped to Canada via the Underground Railroad amid a clash of state and federal laws.

Oberlin piano contest opens with $10000 prize finale
The 14th Oberlin International Piano Competition runs through Aug 3 with a final at Warner Concert Hall on Aug 2. Winners earn $10000 plus orchestral engagements with Chinese National Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Shanghai Philharmonic. Competitors hail from Australia, Hungary, Peru, China, Korea, Canada and the U.S. The event is hosted by Oberlin Conservatory under Robert Shannon.
