Avon board considers a new type of school levy called substitution levy. It would raise funds beyond the usual cap as new homes and business growth occur. State law change allows districts to test this option, with the outcome depending on economic conditions.
The Midview school board plans a 6 30 p m meeting at the Midview school board offices to persuade voters to change their minds about November ballot measures amid a weak economy.
The National Safety Council notes a 9 percent fall in motor vehicle deaths through May 2008 versus the first five months of 2007, with 18 percent drop in March and 14 percent in April.
