Lorain area grocery era postcard tale and local reunions
A column recalls an Elyria postcard of Mueller’s Broad Street grocery near the old Lake Theatre and sidewalk displays from the pre supermarket era. It notes immigrant stores, family history, and a 1901 Chronicle role in local politics, plus a 1919 paper merger, and a 1940s Keel Club reunion. Also covered are Elyria High School classmates’ 45 year reunion and later moves, with memories of wartime service and early wages.
