Mt Chimborazo Claims Highest Distance Above Earth
Smithsonian scientists say Mt Chimborazo in Ecuador is the farthest point from the earth’s center when geoidal height is measured, surpassing Mt Everest by about 7,058 feet though Everest remains highest above sea level. The finding uses 15 years of satellite data and geoidal calculations.
