Grant vote delay endangers 120 Oberlin students

Oberlin College warned Monday that 120 students face uncertain futures if the Ohio Legislature does not approve continuation of the Ohio College Instructional Grant Program. James W. White said the impasse leaves needy students in limbo awaiting potential $1,200 maximum aid, with $365,000 expected this year. The push hinges on Regents' funding guidance and a state budget appropriation as the Senate prepares to consider the tax bill following House approval.
