Drought Widens Across United States Midwest and Plains Hit Hard
The U S Drought Monitor shows over 70 percent of the Midwest in drought this week up from 63 percent. Half the Midwest faces severe to exceptional drought with Iowa and Kansas seeing sharp increases. NOAA meteorologist Richard Heim warns yields may fall and river traffic could be affected as drought persists.
