Slayer Of Widow To Die In Chair
Ethel B Lamphier, 45, found guilty by a three judge court of murdering Mrs Katherine Wilde, 68, a widow, in Norwalk Ohio. The panel sentenced Lamphier to die in the electric chair after an hour of deliberation. Lamphier, who had prior assault conviction, was identified by fingerprints from the Wilde home. He pleaded guilty and waived trial. sanity hearing found him sane but of low character. Don Bell, his counsel, was refused a new trial.
