Geneva July 19 The League of Nations council will meet to consider the Italo Ethiopian dispute about July 29. The council would convene after July 25 if the four arbitrators on the East African conciliation commission cannot name a fifth neutral chairman or extend the arbitration period beyond that date. Secretary General Joseph Avenol telegraphed council members to be prepared for a special meeting between July 25 and Aug 2. The conciliation commission was appointed June 25 with further session plans if arbitration fails at Scheveningen.

DETROIT July 19. Merton Ward Goodrich 27 a former trap drummer confessed slayer of 11 year old Lillian Gallagher pleaded guilty to murder and was sentenced to life in Marquette prison. Defense counsel Harry C Hanley said the plea of temporary insanity failed and the judge immediately sentenced him under guard to await transfer. Robbery at Oberlin College Vault Holds Clerks
Three girl clerks and a male officer were forced into a vault in Oberlin College’s Administration Building around 9 am by two gunmen and an accomplice. About $1200 in currency was taken.
