Six to be fired as Harshaw workers accept contract

Six workers will be fired and 13 suspended for strike activity at Harshaw Filtrol Partnership, after union members narrowly approved a three year contract 140 to 57. The deal raises wages and benefits but could cut some pay due to job reclassifications. The plant plans to begin rehiring Monday while federal arbitration is set for Saturday.

South Amherst Eyes Bingo to Fund School Needs

South Amherst school district plans a Sunday bingo night at the elementary school if a state license is approved.
