Lorain council approves assistant chief electrician post
In Lorain the council backed adding an assistant chief electrician to keep Richard Negron as electrical inspector while moving him into management. The 9 to 1 vote drew concern over unbudgeted pay raises, with safety officials saying the raise is still lower than offers elsewhere to retain qualified staff. The move aims to avoid hiring or contracting out and reflects broader collaboration among city groups on development.
