Rescued ultralight pilots thankful after lake rescue
Parma brothers David and Daniel Wheaton were flying from Grafton to Sandusky when the ultralight lost engine power and plunged 900 feet into Lake Erie near Vermilion Township. A man in a boat rescued them and then left without seeking credit, leaving the Wheaton brothers grateful and hoping to thank him. The incident began at Mole Field with a takeoff around 6:35 a.m. and the engine failure occurred about 8:10 a.m.
