Hope from South Park Elyria housing complex profile

Police records show 250 calls at the 188-unit South Park complex, including two rapes and 169 disturbances, prompting debate over a nearby high school site. Manager Leininger expanded security, added a gate, off duty officers, and aims to organize a residents council to improve safety while continuing subsidized housing.

Residents push for change at Warren complex led by Leininger

Leininger, manager at ABC Manages, urges tenant involvement to curb drugs and crime in Warren. She points to a past turnaround elsewhere and works with new manager Robert Woolbright to engage residents, start programs, and rebuild trust despite turnover and skepticism. Local tenants like Rose Woolfork and Mark Hill support efforts while some residents resist a formal council, citing rent duties. Police say cooperation hinges on residents signing charges and sharing information.
