Thomas Bigler, 15, of Columbia Station, drowned while swimming with his brother David and friends at Rajahland on Portman Road in Henrietta Township. Deputies say he disappeared about 6:30 p.m. and was found about 7:15 p.m. A rescue crew attempted revival. he would have begun his sophomore year at Columbia High School this fall. Funeral arrangements are by Baker Funeral Home in Berea.

Elyria man seeks compensation over park land sale
Elyria resident John F. Polacsek alleges Lorain County Park Board bought 288 acres in Carlisle Township in 1973 for 274000 while survey records showed 305 acres, claiming 17000 acres discrepancy, plus interest and fees.
