Three Convicts Flee From Texas Prison Farm
Three convicts escape from the Eastham Texas State prison farm and seize a Yale student, Markham, Jr., as a hostage while fleeing toward the Kansas border. They kill one guard, steal multiple cars, and are pursued by a wide regional posse across Oklahoma and Kansas. Markham reports they treated him relatively well during the hours-long ordeal before release.
