Goodyear closes Akron metal rim plant after vote
Goodyear says its decision to shutter the Akron metal rim plant is final. After Local 2 members rejected concessions, including a 25 percent pay cut, the company will close the plant in 12 to 18 months and seek new locations outside Akron. The move affects about 434 hourly workers plus salaried staff.
