Rescue workers in Providence Kentucky struggled through debris in the Ruchman coal mine where 30 miners were trapped after a dust explosion. By dawn 19 were confirmed dead or missing with three rescued and 27 still unaccounted for two miles from the shaft in a labyrinth of tunnels.
