Tragic Lake Avenue accident claims local man life
Scott Shoupe, 50, of 11h Oak Street, was killed attempting to rescue his dog from traffic on Lake Avenue at Bond Street. Driver Sam LaCross, 21, of 315 18th Street, is held on manslaughter charges. Three Injured in Auto Crashes In Wellington Area
Three persons were injured in serious accidents yesterday. John Lebow, 7, of 926 Lake Avenue, is hospitalized at Elyria Clinic with a base brain fracture after being struck by a car driven by J Norsworthy, 1005 East Avenue. Mrs. Hattie Burgman of Wellington has a fractured left leg and multiple lacerations, and neighbor Mrs. Charles Berrick also suffered multiple cuts when their car hit a rut, veered into a house at Stop 512 Lake Avenue owned by Albert Monore. The vehicle passed between two trees, over a rock garden, and crashed into the house. Burgman may have internal injuries. Both women received first aid at Memorial Hospital and were taken to Wellington by ambulance.
