Frustrated probers seek black box changes for jet crashes
In Kenner Louisiana investigators say deciphering the Pan Am Flight 759 cockpit tape yielded only 58 seconds of a 30 minute recording. The NTSB vice chair Patricia Goldman announced a recommendation to remove cockpit voice recorders from Boeing 727s to avoid delays in analysis and past replay difficulties. 145 aboard and eight on the ground died in the crash. Eight ground injuries and one child funeral mark the tragedy.
