Tornadoes were sighted in parts of the Dakotas and Kentucky, with one touch down in central Kentucky causing property damage but no injuries. Rainfall totals included 4 inches in Panama City and 2 inches in Tallahassee, while Texas to California endured hot afternoon readings in the 100s and cooler 80s elsewhere.
