Four Girl Scouts Erin Forthofer Julie Beal Sherry Naselsky and Angie Beall attended a day camp at the Carlisle Reservation Duck Pond area this week. The 75 girl camp featured a hob o day with the girls winning first place for best costume in their units. Firefighters accept 2 year wage pact
Elyria firemen voted to approve a two year wage agreement including an immediate 40 cent an hour pay rise and modest benefits amid a potential strike. AFSCME Local 277 leader Stan Wojdyla said remaining details were settled with city negotiators and ratification results would be announced after tonight’s vote at Elyria Savings and Trust. The first year adds about 832 dollars yearly, with a second year 520 dollars, starting at 11 232 dollars and rising to 12 168 after one year.

Re-arrest in 1976 Vermilion murder case indicts Hardwick
William G. Hardwick, 25, of 217 Betts Road Apt B, is re-arrested and indicted on murder charges in the 1976 death of Carol M. Baker. The body of the 20 year old was found near a Vermilion overpass after being strangled. A grand jury cited substantial new evidence connecting him to the scene and to an earlier witness accounts. Hardwick is jailed on 25000 bond and arraignment is set for early next week.
