Useless to useful OSU students convert waste
A nine member Ohio State University engineering team backed by a $9,000 National Science Foundation grant aims to turn waste materials such as waste paper strip mine wastes furnace slags old glass and other castoffs into usable low cost building materials. They will use crushers mixers grinders extruders furnaces and driers to produce lighter weight concrete and insulation while reducing pollution and boosting local jobs.

Millionaire plans no big changes in life
Roger Schmidt, a 29-year-old mechanic from Spring City, Chester County, won Pennsylvania’s millionaire lottery. He says he will stay on his job earning about $10,000 a year and plans to build a new house, while his wife Ruth Ann considers purchases and travel.
